    Hi Mamamia,

Congrats on your progress that's fantastic.

Have you thought about telling your mates about your gambling? If you don't feel like sharing everything perhaps start small. Tell them that you would appreciate them not sending you any info about what they are betting on or anything related to gambling. They are your friends and they should understand and respect your request.

Stay Strong, keep up the good work.

Not a bad day, missed having something on it for a moment but it passed.

Keen to have week 1 finished.

Its amazing what 1 week feels like when you're used to do it most every day.

Day 8 done, hopefully as the time grows, urges die and my addiction becomes a weird memory.

Cheers Sherpa and the rest of you guys for the kind words/suggestions/guidance!

    Day 9 done:
    - urges felt stronger today, we went to the pub i was tired after a long days work and it was a beautiful afternoon, i think escaping/kicking back and having a flutter, watching some horses run, was an enticing thought
    - Again, I haven't given the thought attention until now, i just keep repeating '100 days and then you can entertain it'.
    - I think when i get a significant length of time under my belt, e.g 1-2 months, it'll shift from hard to not punt to too hard to start punting again. Thats the mindset i want to ride throughout 2021.
    - Payday Thursday, i know the urges will become worse and more convincing from then. Its good to have some momentum, i just need to keep it going - savings where it cant be touched, spending money left ungambled, all accounts definitively closed.

Day 10 and beyond, 10% of the way there.
To those wanting to quit, when you start use this forum and just write your thoughts, its a great source of motivation and clarity as well as being a reminder everyday as to why you started in the first place. It's as much a tool for yourself as it is a community support network!

    Hey @Mamamia,

    That's really great to hear.

I think getting past a week is a really great achievement, so coming up to 2 weeks is really something to be proud of. Keep up the great work!

    Best,
