Well done Dan. Keep it going. You will often catch yourself trying to convince yourself that you can go for a small play, and that you can control it now. That is the disease - it talks to you with your own voice. So you need to be good at talking back!!!!

Dont give in to your urges. I've done this in the past. Going back to day 1 is not pleasant. I am at Day 30 today. Been busy this weekend walking the dog, gardening, cooked Pear and almond friands, Passionfruit Friands and carrot cake. Travelling well with no urges this weekend

So today has been a week. The urge was there all weekend and I couldn’t get it off my mind. I made it though.

Well done Dan!

Keep strong! they say you need to replace the gambled time with another activity. The more you resist the easier it will be.

Hi Dan,
WELL DONE! on reaching a week GF!

I'm Lee, I'm glad you've found this forum, where you will always find encouragement and like minded folk.
I'm coming awfully close to 1 year GF!! and all I can say is just hang in there buddy..
I had a tough time the first 2-3 weeks but the longer you abstain the weaker the urges become.
Well done again mate.
Cheers, Lee

Congrats Dan on making a week. Just remember, you did not gamble yesterday and you aren't going to today either. One day at a time.
Lee, congrats on your one year!

Hi Dan
Congratulations on making a week, initially it is hard but the longer you abstain from gambling the better you become at saying no, good on you for going back to the gym, it's good to take up old hobbies as a way to fill the void, I myself have taken up a hobby that has been neglected for some time now, reading books, because when your out of the 'zone' gambling is all that sits on your mind unless your keeping busy.
Keep posting, and never say I post too much, haha I say to myself I don't post often enough.
