Hi Free4Good,

Lapses are not failures, they are just part of the journey. Many of us lapse battling this demon but that doesn't mean the demon has won, as hard and as impossible as it must seem at the moment, you need to push forward. You have not let yourself or us down, the fact you have come here and acknowledge your lapse shows just how hard you are trying. You could take the easy way out and keep it secret and tell no one, but the fact you haven't shows how committed you are, you are stronger than you give yourself credit for.

Give yourself a break, breath and begin a new, we are here for you, always.

Thanks Jinxy,

You are right I really don't want to gamble anymore and the guilt I feel well you know. If I can't be truthful here than what's the point. It's the first time I feel comfortable enough to voice what I feel. Maybe cause it's not face to face, so I don't feel as embarrassed or ashamed.
I haven't given up, day 3 today and I feel sick from the guilt, but I have to keep trying.
So thanks again for your encouragement.

Feeling hopeful

HI Free4Good,

Glad to hear you are one day 3 and still pressing forward.

You're right, the guilt you are feeling is something we have all felt. We look at ourselves and think "how could I let this happen?" "How did I let it get his bad?", it' only natural to feel this way but it is a feeling that will dissipate with time. Once you get some distance from gambling, the fog will clear and you will look at yourself in a new light. The mistakes of the past will no longer feel like a crushing weight, you will be able to see them for what they are, and that is PAST mistakes, no need to revisit, no need to dwell, you can look forward with a much brighter view of the world around you.

I believe that Gambling addiction is one of the hardest addictions to confront. There are no outward physical signs, unlike drugs or alcohol addictions, it's pushed to shadows of society and those of us who struggle with this addiction hide it because of the shame, guilt and embarrassment we feel. We have to contend with Betting Aps, Online Casinos, TV advertising, pushed on us from all directions. What other addiction has these obstacles to overcome? The fact that you are here and still chipping away trying to beat this, even with all these pressure around you, show the core strength you posses.

Be well.....You deserve a Gamble Free future and you deserve to be happy.

Well day 5

Pay day and so far no urge even though today I have to take son to his Dr appt for review of his meds which is always high stress for both of us. Went to gym last night and have put some other short term goals in place. Doing more reading at night which is helping. Have paid the bills upfront.

So I will just keep swimming
Thanks again
