I read the posts on the forum everyday. Currently 18 days gf. Seeing a new counsellor and it's really helping. Look I have to be very honest. This post lately has been the first that had ever made me feel cranky. Why? I understand we are here to get help. I certainly don't want to start a bullying trip here either for others in the fovum. Popeye please say anything but not about your wins and how much etc. It's enough to say you've lapsed surely and leave it at that without all the detail of amounts and how good you feel about it. I just don't think that is helpful for the addicted gamblers here to know. It just makes me personally want to go back and try and win like you are doing currently
That's the illogical gamblers mind speaking. I'm sure you wouldnt want that. And i know that it would be really bad for me to do that. Take care and get back on the horse and I hope you can move forward and these wins don't reinforce the idea that gambling is good. We all know it's insidious and soul destroying . I love reading the banter between you and jimi and I do know from seeing your posts for years that is a struggle as it has been for me for years. Hope you don't see this as a slight Popeye. Already my anxious mind is freaking out wanting to remove this post! But I feel strongly about this one area. My sister in law had struggled for years and asked that we please not talk about gambling wins in her presence. well here we have hundreds of addicted gamblers. I mean I know it is a free world but I just think don't try to make out that these wins are in any way a good thing because they're not.

Hi Pamela,

I will now prefer you to not read or reply to my thread, I don't know who you think you are assuming whether I want to stop or not. I have already answered this same question twice now and you keep assuming and accusing me of not really wanting to stop. You don't own the forum, it's a public forum and I will come and go as I please, so don't ask me why I am here as it is clearly obvious as to why I am here. You need to stop trying to control what I can and cannot post, do you really think your reply is helpful to me? If anything you have aroused emotions of anger and as I see you bombarded the forum daily, however you must realise your not a trained counsellor and your tough approach has the opposite effect on me. Maybe your trying to "help" me I do not know, but your rough approach is not appealing. Please leave me alone.

Hi Popeye,

It is true that this is a public forum, but it is not completely free space. There are rules.

This forum is dedicated to helping people to quit gambling.

Posts encouraging gambling or talking about positive of gambling will be deleted.
Posts starting arguments with other participants will be deleted.
Posts that receive multiple complaints will be deleted.

We have received multiple complaints about your posts and as such have deleted multiple post

You are welcome on this forum if you encourage other to quit. You are not welcome if you encourage others to gamble. If you would like to brag about winning then this is not the appropriate space for that.

You have always given good advice on this forum, but having one win has changed your posts dramatically. it is scary to see how much one win can change someones thoughts.

You mentioned that winning is the worst thing that could have happened to you because:

1. Makes you think you can win again
2. Makes urges stronger
3. Reinforces that gambling is a way of making quick money"

You also mentioned in an earlier post that you have lost about half a million over the last $20 years. When you add up all the wins and losses the wins are not so exciting. They merely reinforce your gambling

I am sorry that you have had some wins, it has probably set you back on your path to quitting. There is no reason to set other back as well.
