    Back again

    Thu Oct 13, 2022 6:57 pm

After doing the best I have in years around 40 days the wheels fell off, stayed up all night last night going over $1000 up to $2000 down then ended up with 2 hours sleep and a horrible day regretting what I did, no idea what the trigger was as Ive had no urges at all till then :( all I can do is try again, I'm angry I have let myself and my partner down big time :(

Hi @Danos2292, I'm sorry to hear you had a lapse last night and that it affected your day today. Good on you for reaching out and persisting on your journey to the best version of yourself, and I hope you and your partner can be forgiving and understand this can happen. You mentioned that you are not sure what your triggers were, if you ever feel the urge to gamble and want to have a chat about it you can always call the National Gambling Helpline on 1800 858 858, where you can talk to a Gambling counsellor 24/7.

Hi Danos, sorry that you’re struggling. I too am one to stay up all night and have no not very little sleep and then go through the motions of the morning and have a rough day at work. All while also feeling insane guilt for gambling and losing money.
I hope we can both work through this and look after ourselves better soon. Good work for posting

heya @Danos2292 i'm sorry to hear it's been tough, but good on you for coming back and sticking with it. There are ups and downs on this journey, lapses and relapses don't signal failure, they are learning experiences. Give yourself some time to reflect on the past few months and think about what has been working for you and what has been working against you, your triggers and how you did respond vs. how you would have liked to have responded.

What supports have you got in place and what do you think you need right now?
