Almost at 550 days now. Feeling okay

Unfortunately I’m feeling like crap. My father has a terminal illness and doesn’t have much long left to live. I’m trying not to use this as an excuse to fall back into old patterns. Or to binge eat, or to get into certain things I know I shouldn’t do.

Its hard but I’m plugging away.

I’ve stopped counting the days now, which is a good thing. I barely even think about gambling. Unfortunately my dad passed away so my mind is in a million places at once. I know he had a big gambling problem and left my mum in debt, but he was still my dad.

I don’t want to use this as an excuse to fall back into my old ways.

I'd like touch on something you mentioned there, my father was also a gambler, and gambled openly in front of us which made me think it was ok to do. Poker machines, lotto, poker with his mates. I guess he never though of the repercussions.
But in saying that, I wonder if it would have made a difference or just delayed the inevitable .
