We’re making progress paying off the debts but nothing is showing me that this time is any different to the others. He has less access to cash now (I think). But there’s always doubt in my mind. He’s taken to eye-rolling when I ask about booking a counsellor and he occasionally gets cash out at the atm. My stress is compounded by the fact that we’re down to one income. It is what it is.

    Hello Peach,

    Long term gambler here.

I am very committed to quit gambling forever.

In my opinion any gambler needs to be 100 percent committed to quit if they want to quit. If there is any hesitation in your husband, he’s not ready to quit.

Reading between the lines and I could be way off. It seems to me that he is not ready to quit.

I am very sure any gambler would not want to live with themselves or should expect anyone to live with them.

I don’t think my fiancé will ever trust me if I went down that path again and to me, it’s worth the fight.

You can help him with the battle but you can’t win it for him.

    Andy
