Day 1 of hopefully a new me

    Sat Mar 16, 2019 2:15 pm

    Hi There,

New member, posting to be honest with myself and face my issues.
Problem gambler for over 10 years now, have progressively ramped up and now out of control. This last week has been hell with the losses sustained.

Hoping I can start off fresh as day 1 today and tick off the small wins when I get them.
Is going to be tough as my gambling is linked to drinking and emotional triggers, so will be trying to shake the pokies and the drink at the same time.

Fingers crossed I can get there before I lose everything 🤞

    Hey Baz,

Good coming here, lots of support here.

Definitely give up the drink for starters, for now anyway, nothing to say you can't enjoy a social drink in the future without gambling, but if it's a trigger you need to give up for now and I guess you have to learn to deal with your emotional issues, easier said than done.

I also in the past would gamble when I was sad, stressed and a lot of family issues.
On top of the regular just gambling anytime, hell I'd gamble when I was happy, sad, whatever.
I'm learning to not let things get to me like I did. I would let things upset me, then think F$#@ it what's the point of anything, my lifes already effed then I'd gamble.

My gambling also got progressively worse and I never want to go through that **** again.
    Life is so good now.
You can do it, the time will pass fast and slowly you will get your life back on track, take one day at a time.
    You can do it.
    Just do it.
