    Gamblers Anonymous Meetings

    Thu Apr 01, 2021 8:16 pm

    Hi all,

Can people please explain how the gamblers Anonymous meetings work.

I need a support network but very hesident as I am a local business and scared of making my addiction public. I signed on to an online meeting but got spooked.

Really want to make some changes - it’s now or never!!

Is there a buddy system or network?

    Thank you

Try speaking to a counsellor than getting referrals would help :)

What state do you live in?
The risk you take is that someone you know will also attend the meeting ,but that wouldn't necessarily mean that's a bad thing as you could support each other.
There is a group called Kicking the Punt that does on line zoom meetings on a Tuesday night that might benefit you

    Hi @Justdoit!

I understand why you can feel quite hesitant as you do not want people to find out. As @pamela mentioned, if you were to attend a meeting and someone you know was there, you could support each other as well.
However, Have you considered maybe doing face to face counselling? It sounds like maybe that would be more suitable for you at this time? What are your thoughts?
