Hi all, I am 29 and have been gambling for around 12 years. It started socially with older friends and it developed into an addiction for myself but friends did not seem to have the same level of dependence on gambling. I have tried to stop before and at times it has seemed under control, only to blow out and go through big losses leading to extended periods of chasing week after week. I have hit rock bottom more times then I can recall and after a recent loss I decided that it is time to get myself some real help. I have a supportive partner and this is the first time trying to quit that I actually feel I can do it, and actually want to do it. Reading through some of the posts in the forum I am glad I joined, I am at day 4 and focusing on each day as it comes

    Hi,

This is Abit different for me as I've never had the guts to identity my gambling addiction

I'm 32 years old and started gambling when I was 18, there were times where I wouldn't gamble but it wouldn't last long as something would always bring me back to it.

I have 3 beautiful children I'm due to get married in October but the way I'm going there's a chance it won't happen, I've been with my fiance for 8 years and she has delt with my gambling addiction the whole time she is one of the strongest people i know.

I need to change I don't want to be this person anymore I'm sick of thinking about winning big or what I would do if I did, always chasing my tail dropping in for a quick slap which Turns into a expensive afternoon then trying to come up with an excuse where the money went when she knows exactly where it's gone.

I don't know where to start as this has been my life style for years now. I don't want to lose my family I want to change.

I do earn good money but what's the point of it if I'm just going to continue throwing it away. This afternoon I emptied the account trying to chase a major paying $1000 on a pokie machine even if I got it I was still behind for how much I put in.

I want to change my ways for my family

    Any advice is much appreciated
