    Hi @Ashlee,

    I'm really sorry to hear that you're having a hard time processing the situation with your husband. You've definitely come to the right place for support.

    Within the forums there's a space dedicated for friends and family of people with an addiction to gambling. Have a look at some of the posts, I'm sure you'll be able to relate to some of them.

    I also recommend you have a read at this post in the blog.

    If you feel like you're needing further support, you can speak on the phone for free 24/7 to one of our counsellors on 1800 858 858

    Please reach out at anytime. We're here for you.

    What works for you?

    Wed Apr 28, 2021 11:44 pm

    I've been gambling for as long as I can remember. It use to be exciting and a way to socialise.
    Now, I literally spend all my money ( after bills ) in the pokies.
    The modules online are great. This is my first time seeking help. I want to stop.
    I think a few options I have found that might work are to cease all withdrawals, get some of my wage put into an account that I can't touch and block myself from all venues.
    Any ideas to implement these would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi @GamblingAddict6

    Thank you for reaching out and sharing your story. Taking the first step can be incredibly difficult so I just want to say congratulations, and it's great to hear you've found the modules useful!

    Self exclusion is a state by state process, so I would recommend contacting Gambling Helpline on 1800 858 858, as they will be able to help you with the process. They also have counsellors who will be able to offer counselling and support, as well as further tips and techniques.

    Your techniques sound really great! Does anyone else in the community have some tips that would be useful?

    I'm looking forward to hearing your journey :);
