    Thanks everyone for the support.

It’s now been one week since I’ve gambled but still can’t shake this feeling of guilt/sadness and foggy feeling in my head.

It’s strange, apart of me doesn’t want to let go of these feelings and forget but also just want to feel normal.

Im sure it will get better but just can’t find a way to forgive myself.

    Hi Roys59
Forgive yourself, the past it's the past you cannot change it.
But you can treat your wife something nice, like surprise weekend getaway, I know with covid 19 it's a bit hard or buy your wife something nice instead.
As time go by when you stop gamble, your guilt will be slowly disappear cos you start do the right thing for your family.
I been putting $100 extra into our join account each week , that was on top of what I usually I put in, and extra to my kid account cos I spend all their savings.
Now when I go shop I see something nice I will buy for everyone in my family cos I can afford most thing in life now.
I am grateful that my partner give me a chance to make it right.

    Thanks @Anita44

That is a really good idea.
I’ve thought to myself throughout today and that these feelings might subside but trust is earned. I have more motivation than ever to kick this problem and earn my trust back again.

Small gestures and giving back to my family after taking so much is one small step to a way forward 😊

One week, no gambling, no urge. I feel really strong this time. Many times before Ive said that's it no more but in my mind I wasn't confident and thought Ill just be more careful. But I know that I can't do that so really for me its not at all. I know other people can have a flutter for fun but Im always chasing losses.
Today was a good day, I feel like Ive gone back to basics, just enjoying being at home and knowing that I'll sleep well tonight. Thats a win for me! Hope everyone else is doing well, especially if you are in lock down. Ive actually told a few friends etc that Im not gambling anymore, I feel the more friends/family that know this then won't pressure me into doing it. I haven't told them the ins and outs just that I'm not doing it anymore.
