I’m going good sorry I haven’t been in contact been so busy trying to keep my mind occupied I’m still gambling free and I’m only gambling free because ive accepted that I cannot change my past mistakes and if I continue to change my losses I’m going to make my situation worse and all the money I’ve lost that’s ok because money ain’t everything the best things in life come free.!

Hi I'm a 54 year old lady who is incredibly sad and feels totally broken. I have gambled for thirty plus years on the horses and pokies but recently pokies have become my new normal - there's nothing normal about going out alone spending heaps of money lying to my husband and adult kids. I've been seeing a counselor for about six weeks and have been almost begging for a peer support person but be still waiting for this so last night I did what they suggested I came home broke feeling so disgusted in myself and told my family everything and my hubby would not even talk to me last night but today he's been great I've now applied to start a program offered in my State the government run and I am hoping I apply to do the two week in hospital stay as intense as it sounds I gave up smoking 8 years ago through will power and quit sportsbet January this year I have not missed either but this gaming addiction has got me good - so there's my story but hoping only one part of it and I can do this

    Hi @Tobygirl,
Thank you for sharing your story with us. And talking to your family about what you are going through is not easy but you have the courage to do it. Good on you!
It's good how you have plans set up already. I have also included some information about another peer-support service called Smart Recovery in the welcome message we sent you. Let us know by @ myself or @Printemps in your post and we will try our best to help!

Hey, I’m PlayerX and I’m 22. I have a serious gambling addiction to casino table games. I’ve been gambling for a year but have spent over 10K at the casino and I’m lucky if I’ve won half of that. I have the lowest amount of money I’ve ever had. I have a good job and a place, and a small little family. I don’t want to gamble anymore but I am addicted to everything that comes with it. The chips, the casino lifestyle, the tables, the alcohol, and the socializing that comes with it. It got to the point where my girlfriend had an intervention for me, and I hide online gambling blackjack from her. I need some help. I don’t want to be broke, I had a lot of money before I got into gambling.
