What can you do without money?

    Tue Apr 30, 2019 6:28 pm

    Hi All

Seeing as I screwed up today and have to get through until 9th May with zero funds, what can you do without money? Thinking mainly of the weekend, when I would normally head for the pokies, now I have no money at all, and want to have a good weekend, hit me with your ideas please!!

Cooking is obviously out, I have enough food (I hope) to see me through, but not enough to create or cook anything...

Can't believe I'm in this position...actually I can because I made it happen!

    Take some ''time out" ...

read a book? Go for walk?

    sort out a wardrobe?

    watch a dvd?

Google maps Is something I've grown to love.

Most of all you need to be Kind to yourself.

Depending where you're located, there's often local guides for free events that are on? Could be rewarding to do something that's totally new to you!?

It is definitely going to be about changing habits that's for sure. I think what will work for me in these early days is (when I do get paid) to limit my access to cash.

    Hi Annie1471,

Sherpa09 here, (one of the moderators on the forum). Welcome to the forum! Putting in place preventative measures such as limiting your access to cash is a great idea in beginning to change your habits in relation to your gambling. Welcome again and look forward to your future posts :)

Not wanting to sound like a downer... but be prepared for an emotional rollercoaster . There's a sense of uneasiness which often feels like boredom and this can be a trigger for urges. It is really important to be mindful and enjoy the things you are doing ... even if it means sitting quietly!

Since I've stopped gamblIng nearly 19 months ago and life took over ... I am having more and more days where l say to myself "gosh I can't believe I'm feeling peacefull" (and this amid study chaos! haha!)

    Stay strong Annie!
