Pokies and Beer the three of us must part,
It will never be as it was at the start,
When we were together, escape, the world fell away,
Unfortunately the ramifications always stay,
Now i am broke, the vultures are circling,
My children, my partner, my families all hurting,
I was warned to get humble, or get humiliated,
But continued to ignore sound advice unabated,
My spirit is broken, my body is weak,
And No one believes a word that i speak,
Your illusion of pleasure, of fun and relief,
HAs only ever ended with anger and grief,
I know too well how the first months will be,
But i remember the past, have the ability to see,
That my life can be lighter, fuller and richer,
Without bloody pokies and beer in the picture!

Hi Jahmun,

What a great letter. It pretty much sums up the experience of a gambling addiction.

Wow two weeks without gambling what a good achievement. keep at it and remember to stay positive.

All the best,

Back again. I’m in Rehab at the moment, for a multitude of reasons but gamblings right up the top. Have self excluded from the casino (should have done it years ago), and haven’t gambled for about two weeks.
