Hey, Im 21 yr old and realised a while ago that I have a severe gambling problem. It's mainly the last 3 months it's been the worst but the last 2 weeks I have spent thousands, I have been trying to stop for ages but it’s just impossible. I feel like I have an incurable disease. I am my own worst enemy. I went from having 6k in my account 3 weeks ago to clearing my accounts and now having $500 to my name. With rego due in 4 days and electricity due in 3 days, Even when I win it all goes back in, i was up 3k tonight... all gone. Iv put limits in my cards, left cards at home ect, just not working and I know I need to stop, any suggestions? Self exclusion won't work as there are 100s of places to gamble near where I live.
Please be kind as I know it's a problem and I'm embarrassed about it to be honest...

Hi @User6401 and welcome to the community. It takes a lot of strength to reach out and admit to your problem gambling. You have come to the right place.

It is not an 'incurable disease'. There are many others on here who have shared their stories and strategies around their recovery, and there are many success stories of those being gamble free. You may find some of those threads inspiring to read.
Hopefully you will get some response from the community on here too, just give it some time.
You have mentioned a few strategies below that haven't worked for you. Has there been any others that you have found to work in the past?
