Re: Share your self care!
@spentitallagain you're got a really comprehensive list there! It's really good to have multiple options for types of self care.
Not putting too much pressure on yourself and being grounded are both really important as well. Too much pressure can often backfire and have the inverse affect.

Re: Share your self care!
I'm looking forward to my self-care this coming week, it sounds incredibly boring but it's just spending some time at home. I think over the past few years my relationship with gong out and socialising has changed. Once lock downs were lifted in Vic it was difficult to find a healthy routine as it felt like there was pressure to be out and about. However, the past few months have led me to realise that being at home, giving yourself space to do what you have to do, cooking, cleaning, hobbies, rest etc. is so so important, and also very easy to neglect.

Re: Share your self care!
hello hello everyone! it's the weekend, and that means giving ourselves a little bit of TLC!
This week my self care is pretty basic, it's just cleaning and tidying up my flat. Having a clean living space, especially my office makes it a lot easier for me to have a tidy headspace!

Re: Share your self care!
hello hello everyone! This week my self care is spending time with family. I'm someone who really enjoys being social, but at times I find that that can impact on the time I spend with family. I'm trying to make a concerted effort to spend more time with my family! It's ice to be with people and just be yourself and not feel any pressure to be someone else!

Re: Share your self care!
hello hello everyone!
This week I'm looking forward to
1. getting a new couch or armchair. I've been rearranging my apartment and I've realised my living room is a bit cold looking so a new armchair will hopefully help jolly it up a bit! Just want to make sure it's the right fit for the space, instead of just jumping on the first one I see
2. Seeing my godson, he's in high school now and has had covid and laryngitis so it will be nice to see him soon!
3. A few nice sunny days in a row. Melbourne has been so dreary , it's nice to get the sun every one in a while!
how about everyone else!

Re: Share your self care!
Happy Saturday everyone! It's that time of the week where we give ourselves a bit of time to stop and think bout what we need and what will help us move forward in recovery! Self care is so important, and a massive element of recovery.
For me this week, self-care has been recognising that I'm placing a lot of pressure on myself and taking a step back. Noticing when I'm feeling over whelmed, checking in with myself and grounding myself is really important. Sometimes we don't actually notice the pressure we're putting on ourselves and the impact it may be having. So remember, take that step back, collect yourself and take a deep breath.
How about everyone else?

Re: Share your self care!
Hi @Printemps
My self-care this week included chilling out reading a magazine, doing puzzles and getting my hair done.
Spent some quality time with the hubby, kids and my own family.
It was nice to be outside cooking a BBQ Brekkie in the Sunshine today. It's the little things we forget about I believe that helps ground us.

Sometimes it seems like all that's needed is more rest. But it's always lacking.Printemps wrote: ↑Sat Sep 10, 2022 11:48 amHappy Saturday everyone! Re: Share your self care!
Hi everyone, it's been a while since we had some discussion about self-care.
I thought it might be a good idea to share some of my self-care.
Before, I always thought self-care as doing something that's good for me even though it might give me stresses in doing them such as exercises (yes, thinking about actually going to the gym and exercises gives me stress...) But now I know self-care is about caring for yourself not about what you do.
So now, when I feel stress, or need a break, I would
- go and give my cute fluffy girl a belly rub and see how much she enjoys it
- give myself a little crafting project (make some things to give away in special days). I enjoy making things, so I can be very concentrated when I am doing that, and seeing how people love the things I made makes me happy
How about you? Welcome to share a little about your self-care~
