Hey everyone,
As we get to the weekend it’s nice to be able to focus on the positives and give yourself a way to keep your mind off any triggers. These activities are designed to get some positive and supportive conversations going between members and maybe offer some inspiration and motivation to those who are struggling.
This new activity is called 3 things to look forward to: share three things that you’re looking forward.
For example:
• Having a picnic in the park with mates + saving enough to get new car + smashing my 100 day challenge
• Getting a new puppy + going a year without any bets + going on a weekend get away
• Paying off my debts + getting my haircut + seeing my partner
This will run all day every Saturday, alternating fortnightly with “Turning the negative into positive”.
If you have any feedback than we really appreciate hearing from you.
The new activities will be running in addition to our weekly Chatty Tuesday meetings.
We can't wait to hear what plans and goals you folks have coming up!

Re: 3 things to look forward to
Alright everyone! We're starting off this weekend thinking about a few things that we are looking forward to! It can be really helpful having something to look forward to on the horizon, no matter how small.
I'll kick things off
I'm visiting my parents this weekend, which means I get to see my pet cat
The weather is nice, which mean I can get out of the house for a walk
I will be starting a new unit for my study in July, which I'm really looking forward to!
@Squeaky , @JB-nsw , @AlcoholicGambler91 and @cevane1979 , do ou guys have some things you're looking forward to?
I'm looking forward to hearing from everyone

Hi @Anita44
How are you? I have been reading your posts and its seems like you are going really well!
I am starting my journey today to stop gambling after a relapse, it is incredibly hard.
i really want some success though and to beat this addiction. I will do everything is my will power to stop.
How did you move on? day to day without not sleeping properly, thinking about it constantly? I am struggling with this.
The three things i look forward to
1) Having a good sleep tonight
2) Three weeks leave starting Monday
3) Having a good dinner :)

Re: 3 things to look forward to
Hi yep123 how are you doing? I loose $4000 on my last day I play pokies. That when I know pokies are not for me anymore , I even too scare to go home after I loose, my partner was keep ring me I don't even pick up his phone, after I loose I go home he was asking me have I been play pokies I said yes I'm so so stupid, I don't want the addiction over take my life, so I'm her and I know I do need help but I work alots that will help me, I'm very lucky that I have very supportive partner. From now on I will rather spend money on holiday instead . I'm stay at Hilton resort tonight it cost $345 it's still alot cheaper than play pokies n I don't need to worries that I win or loose, even I do win I won't leave anyway I will play until I loose back again that when I know that I can't play pokies any more.
You just have to let everything go n start fresh never look back what you loose just think it's a very expensive learning in life, my partner say to me it's very too late we human we make mistakes but we need to move on, I'm still in early stage at the moment.

Hi everyone,
@yep123, those are really nice things to look forward to. Any plans for your three weeks leave?
@Anita44, how was the night at Hilton resort? Glad you got to pamper yourself. I'm also glad to hear you have a very supportive partner, that's very positive and sounds like it's a good motivation for you.

Hi @Anita44 @Lovely Cat Lady ,
@Anita44 , it is a journey isn't it! and yes we do make mistakes, however when you make them over and over again, its hard to not have the feeling of worthless and guilt and pain. And no control, for this relapse i didn't go down to very last penny i had, which in the past i have done and have been left without food and not able to pay rent. So i am grateful that i a little bit on control. Early days for me too, this time i want to stay super strong and just try and move forward without thinking of the past. It is lovely you got to stay at the hilton, well done!
@Lovely Cat Lady I was going to go away, but i have gambled that money away. So for now i am planing on doing a lot of free outdoor activities, beach and mountain hikes etc.

@yep123, I'm so sorry to hear that you gambled that money away. However, I'm really glad that this time you stopped before not having enough for food or rent. That's a step forward, and all steps count.
I'm sure the beach and mountain hikes will be a great experience too. Some fresh air, exercise, time to clear off the mind... Sounds lovely, let us know how you go with that.
3 things I'm looking forward to:
1) Following your progress in your respective 100 Day Challenge (@Anita44, @yep123 & @Menz199)
2) Catching up with friends this week
3) Seeing @Printemps this week (we missed each other last week)

Hi yep123, yes nice to away for the night, I'm planing to do that more often, so I'm not waste my money n time at pokies again, I know it's hard to give up gamble but I need to try my harder. My partner say to me as long as I try that matter the rest it's all take time.
I hope you have family or friend can help you thought this hard time.
Hi lovely cat lady
Away from home it's great , I'm just take it day by day, I'm working today and I have not think of play pokies or anything like this which is very good.
