@Nomorehorsingaround you've done a good thing by posting here.
My advice is to be open to taking what might feel like uncomfortable steps to help you take control. For everyone it is different, but i have seen these mentioned: being honest to others close to you in your life, self exclusion programs for venues and online betting, limiting money access or giving oversight to someone close to you, counselling, groups. For me, the thought of most of those things are uncomfortable actions to take, but I have had to introduce one (self exclusion) after my willpower broke and I gambled on two separate occasions. And I know in myself if that isn't enough I am going to have to add more of those strategies no matter how I feel about it. So be open and willing to use whatever tool you need to.

Hi @Nomorehorsingaround
Welcome to the forums and excellent work reaching out.
What's you goal ? Are you wanting to cut down or to eliminate ? There are some great points on the response above.
what do you think could be useful to you to reach your goal?

Re: Chatty Tuesday - Join us Tuesdays!
Hello Everyone! :)
Welcome back to our Chatty Tuesdays!
How has the past week been for you? Any highlights throughout the week or maybe something you have been struggling with?
What can you do in the next week to keep yourself on track or give yourself a headstart to tackle gambling?
I'm also interested in what hobbies you all find helpful to keep yourself distracted and that you get genuine joy out of?
For me its going for long walks with my dog, reading and watching netflix!

Hi @Calvin (facilitator) ,
I rediscovered my love of art when I quit gambling. I can loose myself in a sketch and let all my troubles melt away. I am at peace.
I have even began to do pet commissions which is going well. Gives me a bit of extra cash to spoil myself when I hit those anniversaries
.
4 years as of Feb
Binge watching my Fav TV shows is also a good way to unwind and relax

Re: Chatty Tuesday - Join us Tuesdays!
Hi @JinxyWolf that sounds great
Art is such a great way to practice mindfulness too, much like cooking is for me. I find it's the one time I'm completely focussed and not worried about anything else.
Congratulations on going 4 years gamble free in Feb, what a huge achievement!
