    Start of Day 5 today.

Got paid last night. All went into my budgeting account.

Feels great to not be feeling the extreme excitement of having access to a large of lump of money.

Had a few urges yesterday as I finished work a bit earlier due to COVID but I managed to refrain.

    One day at a time.

    @spentitallagain

It sounds like having the My Budget account has had an intimidate effect, which is really good!

Good on you for refraining yesterday. What helped you get through the urges?

one day at a time is the perfect mantra

Strongggg urges right now being the weekend..

Really sucks, can feel the urge extending through my entire body into my arms.

I need to keep reminding myself of the bad times and also that no matter what the outcome will be the same.

Also that sick feeling of that first bet.. I almost always regret it..

    Day 6 today. Stay strong.

Hi spentitallagain well done for trying hard, it's hard when you know you got money on your hand right now , that urge are bad.
It's will getting better after a few weeks, go treat yourself something nice instead, like take out food so you don't need to cook for the night .
Hang out with your friend only the one that you know they are not gamble people that help you alots .
Take it easy and be nice to yourself.

Hi spentitallagain be kind and be nice to yourself.
I use to think of myself like that before when I gamble, stupid dumb and no more money feel like s hit.
But we all can't control ourself went we their.
You just have to learn to let go what ever you have been lost in the past and learn to start fresh again, it's all depend on how strong your determination to give up gamble.
My determination are very strong with gamble are 100% do what it take to get my life back.
Treat this forums like your dairy for day by day.
Cos we don't judge anyone here, we all here for the same reason.

    Hi @Anita44

Had another little set back on Monday night and gambled again. Thankfully I lost and it deterred me and made me realise wtf am I doing…?

I know relapse is a part of the process but seriously!! How many times haha. Thankfully anyway I’ve refrained for the rest of the week. Start of Day 4 again.. will keep in touch.

Hope you are doing well too :)

    Hi spentitallagain
We kind to yourself and be nice to yourself.
I can recommend when you get paid first thing make sure all the bill been paid, buy all the grocery you need until the next paid.
At less you know by paid all that you don't have much left to spend on pokies and the urge will getting less.
I think when you have too much money on your hand the urge are alots stronger.
