Back to basics… Trying the 100 day challenge

    Wed Jun 23, 2021 8:23 am

    Hey guys,

This isn’t the first time I have been back here back in 2019 I made it to 100 days. But I’m here to start back up again. Gambling is starting to get on top of me again. Hate it! This worked for me last time. So going to try my best to get through it.

    Hi @spentitallagain,

Welcome back! Good on you for taking up the 100 Day challenge! Its great that it's already helped you in the past. Lapse and relapses are part of the process, so remember to be kind to yourself. When you start over, you're starting from a point of more knowledge and experience than the previous.

You've beat this before, you can beat it again! :D

    Day 2 starts today…

    One day at a time!

Have to try and build that resilience muscle in my gut to try and restrain, think about the ramifications of even just one bet and where it could lead me

    Hey @spentitallagain,

One day at a time, that's right! That's a great plan: build resilience muscle to restrain, think of the consequences of your actions... Sounds like this is going to be very helpful it terms of motivation for you onward.

Hope you have a good Day 2!

    Day 3 starts today.

Just have to keep taking it one day at a time.

    Going to keep posting here.

Honestly was going to throw the towel in today, felt like taking the day off work, selling my iPhone, and gambling the money down the pub.

    Sounds insane hey?

But thankfully I’m on the bus to work. Have less than a dollar to my name, get paid on Wednesday next week. Have to stay strong.

    Hi @spentitallagain

One day at a time is definitely the way to go.
Day 3 might not sound like a whole lot, but you fought an urge and won. That's a massive step in the right direction.
If you can fight the urge once, you can do it again.

Please keep on posting; we're always happy to read about your progress and offer support.

Friday night, difficult night for me and a difficult weekend coming up because I’m not working..

Races are on, girlfriend heading away for a girls trip

Had to borrow money off my mum tonight to get me through until Wednesday and Thursday next week.

    Day 3 nearly done

hey @spentitallagain just checking in and seeing how you're holding up? @Menz199 has some good advice there. Do you have a list f activities you can do instead when the urge strikes? It can be useful to keep them written down on some paper in your wallet or on your phone so they're close by. I hope you're holding up all good.
