    Thanks @Lovely Cat Lady, yes breakfast made at home is always better and already one way to save money. Was just unmotivated last week, but am happy making the change back. Also taking banana to work helps me from buying junk food. So i am trying to eat healthier too.

    Also on that front, if I can get up early enough, (That's a big IF at this stage) I'm going to try and do some exercise before work. I used to go for a long walk after work and was slowly trying to get into running. But stopped when daylight savings finished. I don't feel safe walking around in the dark. During around the same time was when I was relapsing so unfortunately I lost all motivation to exercise. But I'm going to try and to use this opportunity to better myself in more ways than just beating my gambling problem. I know try is a bad word to use in these types of situations as it's not committing to the task at hand. But I'm taking things one step at time and don't want to stress myself out, by committing to too many things at once, because stress is a bad trigger. Stress just makes you want to escape and for us that means relapsing into the world of gambling. Which is definitely not something I want to do. Main thing is dragging myself out of bed early which is not something I'm going to easily do, but it is something I can work on.

    Anyway today was another good day, work was slow but got busy toward the end. So far this week has been good.

    Day 11/100 still going strong :D

    Hey @Menz199,

    Absolutely, making breakfast at home and taking some food to work is great for both saving money and eating healthier. It's also okay to go easy on yourself too when you're not feeling up for it. :); Exercise before work if you manage to get up for it sounds like a fantastic idea. And again, it's also okay too to have some sleeping-in days when you're not up for doing it.

    Of course, all of these changes are very positive and they build up into habits. However, it's very smart of you to take it one step at a time so it's not too overwhelming and ends up becoming a trigger. It's great that you're identifying your triggers and the little changes in your daily routine that you can manage to implement.

    Yay, I'm glad you're having a better week at work than the previous. :cool:

    Any plans yet for the weekend?

    Thanks so much for the support and encouragement @Lovely Cat Lady I am really enjoying reading your replies. :o
    It will take time, but I'll slowly get there. Not sure about the weekend, although I don't think I'll do too much aside from catching up on chores and washing. Mainly depends on whether I hear from friends or not.

    Today was a good day, work was slow but was alright, I used it as a good opportunity to catch up on some bookwork I've been neglecting.
    I'm a little stressed at the moment as our neighbour is causing some problems but trying not to worry too much. Have to wait and see on that front. Otherwise its bed time.

    Hi @Menz199 ,

    Hows your day been today?

    It sounds like you're in a really great mindset at the moment! This is a day by day process and from what you've said you're taking all the right steps and making those little changes to keep yourself on track!

    Housework and chores can be very cathartic. I always find my mind is clearer when my place is tidy!

    I hope the issues with your neighbours settle down, it can be stressful when issue like that pop up!

    Hey @Printemps today's been ok thanks for asking. Very tired so won't say too much, but work was good and did not do too much else besides some paperwork work that I need to catch up on.
    Yes I love a clean room too, the hardest part is keeping it that way, because it can very quickly go back to being a mess haha

    13/100 Going alright and looking forward to the weekend :);

    Day 15 - another great day
    Didn't sleep the best as it's getting very cold now, but otherwise ok. Today was great, caught up with a friend. Went shopping and bought a couple of blankets for my bed and tidied up my room a bit. Didn't get to do any washing today, but will do some tomorrow as long as the weather is good.

    Must admit though, i'm a little frustrated, because when I was gambling I wasn't as concerned about money, because I would stupidly think when I was short or even had enough money for things. It's ok I'll just go gamble and try and 'win' some more money, sometimes it would work but most of the time it didn't and you'd be worse off. I was a little triggered today, but am pleased that I can identify that problem and work on it. It just means that in the future I'll have to keep a better eye on what I do spend. It's funny how that side of us says "Don't worry about buying this thing/s, you can just go gamble and 'win' some more money and that thing you bought, won't seem so expensive."

    I get to go bed earlier tonight which will be good as I can catch up on more sleep, and try and get up earlier and make the most of the day.

    Day 15 - still feeling great, man this is counting up pretty fast but it's good to see. :);

    & @Printemps if you did have to work today, I hope you took things easy.

    Good morning @Menz199,

    Day 16/100 - hope you're having another great day after a good sleep. :cool:

    Yeah, it's getting cold out there. Feels like we skipped autumn and just jumped straight into winter, hey. But fortunately I see a glimpse of Sun, so you might still be able to do some catching up with your washing today.

    Sorry to hear you're feeling a little frustrated. However, seems like you've just caught yourself on a very important mindset/trigger there. You should be proud of yourself for not acting on it. I'm really glad you're thinking ahead on how you'll manage your spending onward to avoid this trigger.

    Yes, it is funny how we trick-mind ourselves. As boring and annoying as it can be sometimes, I keep a record of all my spending. At the end of each month I go through the list, categorise everything and analyse the total spending on each category. I can't fool myself when I look at that list, and it does make me think twice before buying similar things the next month.

    Have a look at Balancing the budget and Understanding urges, they might give you some ideas.

    Keep us posted. :);

    Hi here are a few good idea's to help:

    1. Immediately ban yourself from all casino's and Pokie venues you have to do it separately as they are 2 seperate entity's contact your casino to do it there.
    2. Cut up all bank cards and credit cards, walk into a bank to withdraw money and buy coles or woolworths voucher's to do shopping or open a citibank account and use that card to pay bills as you cannot withdraw cash from them they are cashless.
    3. Have a calendar and mark off gamble free days
    4. Join a club, sport or find hobbies that commit you to certain days so you cannot go gambling
    5. Always plan ahead on your most vulnerable gambling days so if that's the weekend then buy movies tickets beforehand etc
