    Hi JB

I think I was similar in your position, where I have a few weeks off and then get back to it because of some sort of trigger, rather it being bored or just angry and want a place to chill.

I think the inability to withdraw money is probably the best and I guess after a while you get use to it. Especially we are in covid and its all about cashless payment. Also if I need cash, I ask my partner so that put pressure on me to not waste the money because I know q will come up and I simply don't want that embarrassment.

    Day 7 - going strong.

Still have a urge but at the same time, distracting myself and connecting with nature over the weekend.

    Day 9

Started watching poker videos and actually went to a website with the intention of joining. However I thought about this post and challenge im doing and then disregarded it.

The trigger was definitly bored this time as I have a series of days off work due to Xmas break.

Thats awesome @Leslie1111 ! Keep up the good work. I am only day 3 but hope when those day 7 urges kick I have the same mental outlook as you and use this forum as a barrier to me doing it. I look forward to seeing our days counting upwards!

    Day 15

Struggle due to festive session, went to the pub and walked around the pokie but then came back out thinking its not worth it. Very tempting but definitly a no!

Also because of being cashless, and the card restrictions, it made it a lot easier!

The fact that you were able to say No to the pokies is very powerful stuff! That shows growth and awareness!
What can you do to help get yourself past these next couple of days with minimal temptation?

    Day 25

Not going to lie, i gave up to peer pressure and played some poker with my mates. Although amount was minimal, it was still gambling. Pretty ashamed of my self and regret the give up. But the journey continues!

    Happy new year to everyone!!!

Stick with it @Leslie1111 , as you stated the journey continues, refocusing can often be a major part of the journey.

    Day 30

Its been hard to re focus as I attempted another bet today. Trying hard to concentrate again but failing :(

Using this forum as a tracker and making me think. Going to post daily to see how it goes as it becomes accountable for me.
