Thats okay, different things work for different people. In the meantime it can be helpful to figure out when your trigger times are, what urges you experience during those trigger times and also what activities you can do to help distract you.
@pamela @JinxyWolf @doug Any support or words of advice you have for our new member Nevar?

Re: Day 1 - bring it on
Hi Nevar and good on you for coming here.
Everyone fights this battle in different ways.
How did you feel the last time you gambled?
Write those feelings down and when you get an urge read what you wrote ,absorb those feelings and then decide if thats how you want to feel again.
Take it one day at a time and don't think too far ahead, get through one day ,then the next day.
You can do this and tell yourself "I won't gamble today"
Good luck

Re: Day 1 - bring it on
hi Nevar
Some times when you write down how you feel it helps.
No magic cures.
But any effort you put into helping yourself will help.
Sometime we may not feel like we are not understood or even understand ourselves.
Its ok to admit that.
I don't usually, but even taking time to write down how we feel is a stepping stone regardless.
Have a nice day

Yes @doug writing is such a useful way to get down what you're feeling/thinking or to keep track of goals :)
