@TheTiges and @JB-nsw ... 107 days pokies free; great achievement for me, really proud that I soldiered on. 3 relapses over the 234 days since I started the challenge Sept last year. A new way of living, continuing my therapy with a counsellor as this is a great support to me as I move towards being my best self in this beautiful experience called life. Thanks for the support on this forum as well; been great to check in and also to view how others are going. ❤️👌

@TheTiges after many years gambling, finally was the end of the tunnel for me, delving into savings, feeling like a total failure, no change and feeling so sick and empty after a big loss, knew I could not do it anymore so my strategy when getting the urge, was to really feel that ‘loss feeling’ and total disconnection from my true essence. It took three attempts at the 100 day challenge; so was pleased after the relapses, got back on the horse and now at 114 days pokies free.

@Printemps thanks for your concern, am going extremely well and so very proud of myself. Am now at 155 clear days from pokies. Continuing with regular swimming and exercise, meditation. I am feeling more connected with my essence and am handling interaction with friends and family better.

@Squeaky that is so incredible to hear! Giving yourself space to reconnect with yourself and nourishing your soul are so integral to recovery, it sounds like you've got some really beautiful habits in place! I'm also really glad to hear your interactions with family and friends are improving, it's difficult to reconnect, but you have put in the work to rebuild those important relationships. :o

Are there any words of wisdom you would like to share for others starting out?

@Printemps I was ready to move onwards, a lot of feelings to face, it’s tough, b mindful at all times and keep going. I have a counsellor, I see her every four weeks now, feel I still require this as it makes me accountable and a good friend I confided in. I lost so much over the years by not accepting responsibility for me, now at the age of 60 plus am finally feeling a grown up. I laugh at that.
