Hi Paul. Staying with the rational you and your rational thoughts is absolutely correct. I feel that the gambling demon works on the emotional part of our brain and thought processes -and is very good at tricking us onto thinking it will be different this time, we can win big, it's just a bit of fun etc. Unfortunately the emotional part works much faster than the rational part of our brains. So barriers are important to make us slow down and give the rational process time to kick in and over-ride the emotional.
Have you put sufficient barriers in place? Block yourself from gambling sites, limit your access to funds etc?

    Day 4
Today urge is quite strong think about my 11 grand debt at moment in reality can pay off in about a year or from 4 extra weeks of work but feelings definitely there I still genuinely believe I could win some money slowly with small risk bets but what's the point even if I did win I wouldn't stop I'd just want to gamble more untill back to square one

    You are not weak Paulie,

You had a moment of weakness.

You are actually strong. You are taking the steps needed to conquer gambling. It's a slow process but you have the courage to acknowledge that you need some help and support.

    Seeking help is not weakness.

trying time and time again to quit is not weakness.

    persistence is not weakness.

You are not weak, you will beat this. It just takes time.
