Hi all

We've heard that there are perhaps too many sections on the forum home page.
This can make it confusing, especially for newcomers, to know where to post. Would really love to hear your valued opinion on the idea of simplifying the sections, perhaps from 10 to 6ish? No threads would be lost.

Your name won't show against your vote. Simply select the dot on the right & submit. Thanks!

Huge thank you to those who voted. Results are in: 75% voted yes to simplifying the forum home page!
Many members of the facilitation team have also contributed offline that they back this, wanting things to be easier for new members and also minimise the spreading of members across areas.

So!

We will be making these changes on October 1. Things you need to know:
  • The changes will be to simply things.. nothing major or confusing.
  • No content will be lost - only moved around
  • Watch this thread for more information soon.

Today is the day and we've made our changes!
Both community members and facilitators gave feedback that we should minimise the amount of sections on the board, as it was previously a little confusing - especially for newcomers. So we've had a tidy up!

Here's what we've done:
  • Renamed 'The Courtyard' to 'Change Makers' to be clearer what that section is.
  • Moved all content from 'Your Diary of Recovery', 'Strategies for Change' and 'Hot Topics' into the 'Change Makers' section (previously The Courtyard) and removed those areas. This is because these areas were quiet, and meant we were all spread across different areas. We hope this will bring all those making/maintaining change into one area, making it easier to connect :) Also minimises confusion where to post.
  • Merged 'Feedback and Queries' and 'Research', as well as some team announcement posts, to make 'Feedback, Queries and Announcements' - an area for administration and feedback.
  • Made a new section 'Community Space'. This is a new exciting area for everyone to connect. The monthly rundowns will be here, as well as special events, and upcoming social threads some of you have helped us plan.
Can't find your thread?
No content has been removed! And we've done as much as possible to minimise any issues. Your links should work, your notifications should take you to your threads, and everything should be business as usual.
In saying that, if you have any issues at all finding your thread, please comment below or send us a message at TheTeam by going to the account's profile here and pressing 'Send private message' and we will happily help you out.

We don't often make major change, promise!
We try to keep changes to a minimum, and only make them in the interest of the community. Having too many areas really seemed to be a community-wide consensus so we decided it was worth it. We hope we've made everything super easy though in the transition. I REALLY appreciate everyone's feedback in the process :)

I'm excited about this new, cleaner space! What do you all think?

Hi,
in light of the recent spam / bot post... is it possible to "report" the name and have all its posts blocked rather than reporting on all its posts individually ?

Hi Mona,

As always we really appreciate the reporting of these posts. It really helps speed up our actioning of these.
As a general rule, when we see a reported post we will look into the author of the post for any other disruptive posts, so reporting one of their posts will bring our attention and we will find their other posts - should save you the much appreciated rigorous work of reporting all of them :)

Unfortunately reporting an individual member is not possible at this time. However we're also going to do some further research into ways we can improve the process on our end. Will keep you posted.

Thanks again!
