Hi, everyone I need some ideas from all of you. How can I stop chasing my loss and stop committing to gambling?
I have stayed away from placing a bet for the last 8 months, however recently I had some money in my bank account, and then it seems like the monster in my mind keeps telling me to place a bet until I lost all the money that I had to have.
I used to win big money from gambling like 50 grands and I slowly started to lose all of them. Plus, I was thinking that one day I can win back the money that I lost and in the end, I lost my own money like 30 thousand. So, overall I lost already 80 thousand.
I don't know how to tell my family about it and how I will face this problem. I am lost right now and I lost everything like ain't focus on my Uni at all instead of thinking about chasing my loss.

Re: How to deal with big loss?
Hi @seals6 Welcome aboard and be proud of yourself that you've taken this step.
Please don't forget you will never be in front when gambling, in the end, the house ALWAYS wins.
Perhaps seek some advice from a counsellor about how to tackle opening up to your family. There are online counsellors available through this website I believe.
Read through the other topics here as well on other people's strategies for helping them kill that little monster in their mind.

Hi @seals6,
Welcome to the forums and thank you for sharing.
You've done well on realising the urges and being able to fight them. Looking at the consequences caused by our actions are never easy.
I have included some resources and information in the welcome message we sent you. Let us know if there is anything we can help you with.
Also, I'm wondering if you've noticed any patterns around when or in what situation 'the monster in your mind' pops up and tells you to place bet?
