    Wife gambling...

    Wed Jan 11, 2023 1:42 pm

Hi everyone, I found out about 5 years ago that my wife had been gambling heavily on the pokies, losing all her money and money I’d been giving her for shopping. Back then she promised that she would stop, and I believed her (wanted to be believe her) so I didn’t really keep an eye on her. A few months ago I realised that she had started again, if she ever really did stop. And in the last week she has just admitted that she has borrowed money from several friends, in total over $100k. I get the feeling now that since she has admitted this to me it’s now my problem to sort out the mess.
    I’m shattered.

    Hi @mw60,

There is counselling and financial counselling you can access. Dealing situation like this by yourself can be hard. But you are not alone, there is help. Hi @mw60

How are you feeling? What do you think you are going to do? I have a similar story. My husband had to move out (due to gambling). He chose to gamble his money instead of paying rent, sold his car and gambled the money and has now come to me asking me to fix it. Love to share thoughts and feelings.
