SW1 you are doing a good job this week by limiting access to money. It's such an evil habit as it works on that idea you said about not having enough money so thinking you will get more money while you're there. That's what happens when you've had one good win the feeling of 'free' money is too easy and you go home with money to spend on food or cinema or whatever you enjoy. The reality is you are doomed to chase that feeling at the cost of all your money and happiness. And you get the odd win but after all the time I gambled I lost so much more. Finally I've accepted I won't win and I can stop the cycle of scraping around for cash, borrowing, selling stuff, pawnbrokers the whole rotten cycle. It's going nowhere and I finally stopped and now I've gotten this far there's no way I'm going back. I see pokies now as self punishment in the shiniest way possible.
Good on you for staying away, I know you can do it because you have before, all the best

Suzy I agree with everything you have said.I no longer want to eke out a few dollars to last till the next payday ..or take out another payday loan to put through the machines.I like feeling normal and not being consumed by the pokies..I cannot put one more cent into a machine..we never win and when we do we put it all back in anyway...I still have debts and will for a long time to come..but I am Not adding to them.
Everyday we dont gamble is a good day..

Thank you again guys, I need to keep coming on here. As payday is coming closer I am already having thoughts of gambling. And that this time I'm going to be able to win. The thoughts we have to motivate us to gamble.
I won't win if I gamble and I can't forget that. I don't want another fortnight without money.

And I need to break this cycle again. 10 days today

12 days today, but payday tomorrow, my dangerous day. I have limited immediate access to the majority of my cash.
Have a work function on tomorrow night as well, so less chance to gamble !

Sw1 you can do it..just tell yourself you are a nongambler..put your self in the right frame of mind and think of not gambling rather than thinking of the possibility of gambling..go out and have a good time and leave gambling alone..you have done well so far

Let your voice be louder than the voice in your head..you are a non gambler ..keep telling yourself that and know that you will never win in the long run but you will win the lottery of life by stopping
