That's great news Mongoose, well done!

Mona and Cazza that's great insight by both of you that you've known in the past when is and isn't a good time of you to be on the forums.
I understand it can be triggering sometimes.
I'm interested at the moment in considering those triggers and if there's a way we can minimise them here on the forums. I've started a feedback thread about this and would really love to hear your experience if you'd like to share it, that way we can consider this when developing our community guidelines.

Good to hear from you Mongoose!

I echo everything dragon007, cazza and mona have said here.

Everybody's journey looks different, but it really does sound like you're continuing to move in a positive direction which is great to see.

Yeah.. cazza.. reminded me that I spend a lot of time reading posts those first few weeks that I'd felt overwhelmed and had to stop to reflect on what l learnt, It was pretty tough getting trough and fighting those urges. ... eventually it got to making changes to years of habitaul gambling routine... carrying no cards and limited cash... going elsewhere to shop .. Takes fair bit of time for these changes to become the New routine then that's when you need to be on your guard and not let "normal" life matters tempt you back to gamble.

Hey mongoose, weekends are the hardest to get through for sure. Alot of people on the forum seem to do alot of activities to keep themselves occupied. I found the more i did the more i thought about gambling. But i am a little odd like that. Basically I bunkered down. Over ate ,read a crap load of books and stayed off the forums completely on the weekends. It took me about 8 weeks GF to be able to comfortably read other gamblers stories on a weekend.
Keep trying, keep posting. Much strength to you

Hi Mongoose

You are absolutely right, you are slowing down your gambling and your thoughts about not gambling getting stronger and stronger. Be patient with yourself and keep trying, you are doing well.

Take care and all the best mate.

Hi Britt it has been a tough few weeks I have had a few relapses but I think I’m slowly starting to change my thinking towards gambling , I have surrendered all my cards to a close friend so have limited access to money the only problem seems to be the weekend but made some plans with my counsellor this afternoon to try and overcome this . It’s been 65 days since I started this journey and although I have gambled 4 times still feel like I am getting there slowly but so very hard to change my ways . Mongoose
