have to be strong and constantly fight those temptations. It is a life long battle... it does get easier after a few months.

Keep going mongoose. You aren't alone, the energy to give up is exhausting, so is the energy to keep gambling. It's your decision to decide where to focus that energy. Don't stop trying to stop

Thanks Mona and cazza wish I could be as strong as you girls will keep trying some days are hard and everything just gets to me that’s the first place I go to have some time out maybe I need to find a new hobby Or lock myself away . Mongoose

Mona or cazza have you ever been to Ga meetings I’m seeing a counsellor for my gambling and a pyschologist for everything else but she thinks that because of my latest binge need to go to meetings just not sure if it is right for me . Mongoose

I've never been to GA meetings... l did used to go to AA meetings in the early years of sobriety.. l stopped because I moved.

And yes I would recommend you go to meetings if you can.

Hi mongoose is your weekend going?
I haven't gone to a GA meeting either, but i didn't want to go out of the house much in the early days. I did talk about it with my husband, and said it may be something i wanted to do.
I found that when I was reading or talking about it started triggering me. So decided that it might not be good for me personally.
But everyone is different and if your doctor has recommended going maybe they feel in might benefit your recovery.
I figure if the tools are at our disposal lets utilize them

Thanks Mona and Cazza for your replies I am back at 8 days GF again no relapses decided on not going to the meetings for the time being started my new hobby which is karate so hopefully will get rid of some of my frustration I used to do when I was younger so I thought I would take up again so things are looking more positive .
