Self exclusion

Postby Rigged communities » Sun Jan 07, 2018 8:59 pm

I’d like to know the easiest way to self exclude from all gaming venues in nsw. Enough I’s enough these forums are good but poker machines and other gambling products need to be banned they are harming people and causing a massive unequal distribution of wealth leading to more corruption and problems in our communities!

In NSW, it is a requirement that all venue operators have a self-exclusion program.

Clubs NSW is now operating a multi venue self-exclusion system on behalf of all clubs and hotels in NSW.

The preferred method for people to join the program is through their local Gamblers Help service. They can join through their local club (Responsible Gaming Manager) but not through their local hotel. People can join up to 35 venues – possibly negotiate for more – but cannot exclude from the whole state.

Currently people in NSW who breach their self-exclusion at either a Club or Hotel can collect their winnings. However legislation is before the Parliament to alter this so people forfeit their winnings and the legislation is expected to get through parliament within the year.

People do not get fined who breach their Club/hotel Self exclusion but a breach notice is filled out and sent to all venues on the SE list and to their referring Counsellor if they have one.
