Well done Glenda!

l too get a bit annoyed that I can't go in there and have a flutter. I do not miss it though. I have been thinking about how much more things I can do later when Christmas is out of the way. I had, during gambling days, found places I would like to go and see that only cost a little bit of money. Always felt depressed and angry with myself at missing these events because of habitally going to the pokies and ending up with zilch. I'd be tired and annoyed with myself for being weak Telling (lying to) myself that I can't have everything and such is life...! That is Not the life I want to live the rest of my life. I want to be able to go places and enjoy my simple life!

The colouring group may not have been your cup of tea but don't let it stop you from looking for other things to do.

Stay strong and be proud!

Good morning all, yesterday someone put $400 in my bank as a Xmas present. I have spent half already (not in gambling) I really need to learn how to keep money. This year I am all up to date with bills and everything so from new year I will have spare money all the time. How do I learn to keep it in the bank. Is this a gamblers problem or does everyone have to learn that? I would love some input please. Thanks

Congrats on 81 days GF!

I don't think it is solely a gambling issue. I think its more to do with the society we live in. We buy things to give ourselves pleasure (the dopamine thing) ... this is often short term. Overall I think it is more a habit thing.

I find that instead of saving what I used to waste on pokies l am buying better food and presents. After Christmas,... I've spend it on wanting to go to Tassie visit a friend...but this is doubtful at this point in time... Grandsons 5th birthday... then if I get back into uni there'll be books..

l think the idea of "saving" is to have a goal in mind. Making a new habit of watching the figures in savings account grow...starting small... a separate non spend account... having money for a rainy day...

It is something I'd like to learn myself.

google it ...? Lol
