4 Months is fantastic.

Tell me, how has your life improved since you quit gambling?

Hi guys,
Thanks Jinxy and Jerry,
I've got a couple unanswered questions i owe you sorry Jerry!
A week or so ago you asked how I was spending my spare time now and what hobbies I was into now.
I've been spending a lot more time with my kids and partner, been reading heaps of novels as well as getting things done around the house and I've been flat out at work.
I've been cocooning myself at home mostly, been shying away from visiting my friends too much. I still feel a very strong need to stay at home with my family and give them all my time and energy.
Slowly paying them back for all those times I would rather be in front of a machine losing OUR money and myself..

Life at the moment has improved beyond belief, I'm generally much happier these days, we've got money in the bank. We have bought a few expensive furniture items that we needed, the list goes on....

Couldn't be doing it so easy without having my partner here to deal with ALL the finances, and of course all the support I get here, thanks everyone,
Cheers, Lee

Lee that is so good, I got so teary reading that.

Thank you for all your encouragement and for continuing to choose to be brave.
I am over here thinking that I deserve a pedicure for making it one month clean, darn, who knows what I will shout myself when I eat the 4 month mark.

Cheers to you and your partner, give yourself a big pat on the back.

That's great Lee,

I think that being gambling free becomes easier and easier when you start to see all the befits of remaining abstinent. It sounds like your life without gambling is much much better.

Your success is an inspiration to others :)

Hello again,

Well I'm fast approaching 19 weeks GF on Monday. I'm really pleased as I was able to pay off the last of my gambling debts yesterday :D
Now my partner and I can really start focusing on our future without the financial burden of my past gambling losses hitting us in the face each payday.
I've managed to pay off 11k
Honestly can't believe it..
I hope everyone tries hard to have a great GF weekend, I know I will.
Cheers, Lee

Hello All,

I had a chance to gamble today.....
I chose not to ;)

I received $50 cash from some clients for some extra work done this arvo. As soon as I was in the car driving home my thoughts were of gambling. It was the first "unaccountable" money I have had in over 4 months, with a bit of spare time up my sleve as well I was thinking I could quickly sneak in a quick beer and poke.
I thought of all you guys here and how I could lie to you all (and my partner..) and pretend it didn't happen.
I was disgusted with myself instantly  and tried to think of what the benefits would likely be if I did gamble.
That made me change my mind in a heartbeat.
I was soon smiling brightly in the bottle shop as I handed over my hard earned fifty to the sales woman and drove home with a cold carton of beer instead.
Cheers everyone you make me stronger, thanks, Lee
