Good morning everyone,

It has been nearly 8 months since i last gambled, and truly amazing things are happening. My eldest daughter has been accepted to a scholarship in japan, which stll required us to pay 4k. In my gambling days there is no way we could have paid that as i would have put it all in the pokies.

I still get urges from time to time with the little gambling monster telling me i could just do $50. I know the reality would be very different.

Good luck to everyone on the forum, if i can do nearly 8 months than anyone can xxx

Take care

Sandra

Hi everyone,

Decided to start posting again. Life is wonderful, but i know complacency can lead me to making some bad and unhealthy decisions. Posting on here and reading other posts helps keep it real for me.

All it will take is 1 dollar into a pokie machine and everything will come crashing down. It really does get easier day by day. Freedom from being a prisoner to those soul destroying, blood sucking, life draining Monsters is bliss..

Have a good night everyone.

Hi everyone,

Just got home from my ga meeting. A member returned for the first time in over a year. She has been away as she has been in jail because of theft due to gambling. A truly lovely lady who has so much wisdom and gudance to offer and a strong reminder that this addiction WILL lead us down a path of destruction.

Was reading another post where it was mentioned about not answering our phones when we were out gambling. Once i stopped gambling, i put the Find Me app on my phone if i didn't answer then they could check where i was. I found this to be a great strategy for my family to rebuild trust so just wanted to share.

Take care everyone.

What a powerful story - and as you say a lovely lady full of wisdom; but just affected by the horrible faulty thinking of a pathological gambler. A powerful reminder of where we could all end up.

Hi everybody

Wanted to wish everyone a great, happy, healthy, safe and gamble free weekend.

I have a busy weekend ahead but get a sleep in (yippee)

You have all heard it before but life is fabulous gamble free; if you are struggling know this is true and keep strong.

Morming everyone, life is good. When gambling i completely didnt care that much about our gorgeous, tiny little house. Did the minimum to get by. How fortunate are we to even own a hiuse after my gambling career.

Now it is our sanctuary; i love making and burning candles and have added some arts and had fun restoring furniture. I walk in the door and instantly feel peaceful. Our daughters love having friends over. It really is a home now.
