Staying home bored is better than going to the Casino and coming home broke

I can relate as I've had shares in the past that have dived after purchase. In many cases they bounced back given sufficient time. So I think there's a difference in that the odds aren't completely stacked against you from the start as they are with pokies, and there isn't that concept of constant buzz. Hope the shares recover, and I agree with others' advice about staying strong and out of the casino.

It's an awful disease. Despite knowing we can't win, knowing it is a waste of time and money, having all the strategies worked out....the disease still finds a way to trick us. That's why my ultimate strategy (on top of everything else) is limiting access to funds. I can feel your frustration and pain. And I know from experience how hard it will be to resist going tomorrow to "win some back".... but you know that that's what you should do. We've all been there, it's hard. But don't give up on being able to control this disease.

The trick will be to stay quit. I won $3,000 on a jackpot last year. Took the cheque option; went to the bank the next day; felt great that I had managed to get one over on the pokies. In reality I put that money back (and more) gradually over a number of subsequent visits over the following months. So I didn't win any money really, I just won a bit more time on the pokies. Then went back to losing.
